Technical Impact Analysis

The purpose of a Technical Impact Analysis  is to combine the priorities derived from the BIA and match them to the current recovery capabilities of the organization.

The Technical Impact Analysis focuses on current environment (usually the Information Technology infrastructure) of the business entity that is being studied. An assessment of the recoverability of that entity is performed.

A detailed assessment of current data management, systems management, and network management practices from the disaster recovery point of view is performed in the case of a Data Center or Information Systems study. The recovery strategy is derived from  the cost of outage analysis obtained in the BIA and the current recovery objectives taking into consideration the unit’s ability to recover the systems.

The Technical Impact Analysis includes a management presentation that can be used for IT recovery improvement planning, tactical and strategic planning for I/S, and recovery Strategy selection.
